Hi Everyone,
After seeing 3 fabulous Music & Passion shows, I really love how Barry showcases his music as a "show" instead of a concert. I love how this gives fans (and civilians) the wonderful opportunity of really hearing Barry's music--his emotion, his lyrics. The intimate setting of the Hilton theater, combined with the wonderful band and singers, provide us with a very powerful presentation.
Concerts are a lot of fun, but sometimes they become so noisy, you can't hear Barry. To be able to sit back and take in the music is priceless.
So, what do you all think??? Any preference either way??
Of course, as I always say, he could sit and read the phone book to me, and I'd be okay with that too!!!!!

Carolyn, I totally agree -- both with really appreciating the "show" versus the "concert" -- and with having an enjoyable evening with Barry reading the phone book!
I love him in an intimate setting -- I love the fact that he can change the show so neither the audience nor he gets bored with it. I love the fact that we can see him well -- and he can see us.
I think the theatre is perfect for him -- although I have to admit -- I'm still waiting for my dream Manilow show: just Barry and the piano .....

Hey Kathie,
Don't rule out your dream of having just Barry and his piano!!! It may happen. I finally got the chance to ask Garry K about the possibility of Barry doing an accapella CD of his music, and he actually looked like he was considering it. Of course I'm sure he was just humoring me in the hopes that I would go away...........silly man, silly man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So as it stands, our list of Manilow demands are...........
Barry life-size cutout A concert with Barry and his piano An accapella CD of Barry's music
I think these are all very doable!!! So, Barry, if you're reading this, whady'a say!!!! Please feel free to e-mail any of us to set up a time that would be convenient for us to sit down with you and hammer out the details. WOW!!! Guess what??? A pig just flew by my window!!!
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carolyn (who really needs to go to lunch soon--she's getting a tad delirious!!! more than usual!!! okay, okay, enough snickering people!!!!)

Hi Carolyn & Kathie -
Finally figured out how to re-activate my account and figured I would weigh in on this subject too.
As much as I loved the "concert" atmosphere over the years, I have to say that I absolutely love the more intimate setting with Barry doing a "show" now. It just seems to fit him so well, and it gives the audience a whole new dimension to Barry. He can be boisterous and wild in one moment and then bring everything down to the softest of whispers the next. I mean, that always worked in the concert setting (just so long as there wasn't some bozo who felt the need to shout out during those moments), but it works much better in the show setting now. I can't wait to go back next year and share this experience with my husband. The poor man has no idea what he's in for!!
I like all your ideas too of what we would like to see/hear from Barry next. The life-sized cut out is great (don't even ask me where I'd put it!), the a capella CD sounds delightful, and the Barry & piano concert sounds like heaven. I have a few ideas of my own, but this is a family site and I just wouldn't feel right sharing them here!! (see Carolyn, I've been hanging around you way too long!!)
Okay, how's this for an option - instead of picking one person to be the jacket girl every night, how about he picks one or two people to sit at the piano with him while he sings on the Dew Drop side - you know, where Kye and his "date" normally sit. Wouldn't that be just the cat's meow?? I know, never happen, but you can't fault us for dreaming, right?
See you guys soon! Terry
